Disappointing Web Application

If I had known how ridiculously difficult this product was, I would have never used godaddy. After I delete template images, they reappear. God forbid the template text boxes get resized/deleted. All the tutorials available online are for old versions of the site. Godaddy really needs to step up their game in providing tutorials/assistance for this software.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a hard time building your site with WebSite Tonight. Is there anything specific we could possibly help with?

I am having similar frustrations! WebSiteTonight is NOT intuitive at all. I’ve been working on my website for over a month, off and on, and it is very frustrating. Examples: the drop down boxes don’t offer enough room for titles; text boxes move when originally placed or move when something else is added; trying to add a weather widget is impossible; entering text into a block that creates a run-on page and can’t figure out how to fix it w/o making it an attachment. I’ve changed my template 4 times hoping that would help the space problem but it just creates more problems and then I have to start from scratch; navagation and sub-navagation – YUCK. I’m getting my $ back. I’ve really tried but I don’t have the time or energy to continue with this. The info made it sound WAY TOO EASY.

I don’t understand how you guys had such a hard time. I made my website with WT in a few hours. Then again I didn’t want a really in depth site just wanted to get info on my business out but still very simple program.

I would agree with the rest. I used Dreamweaver for years and thought surely I could use this software to quickly build a website as I no longer had a current copy of Dreamweaver. There are so many problems with this software that it would be impossible to list them all. Things like changing the cell padding for any given table. No problem finding the window to change the cell padding, but it doesn’t change! Text that isn’t formatted the way you instructed the software to format it. I could have manually coded the entire sight faster than I am able to build it with your software. You might try using this sometime and you will quickly see the many glitches….

I just do not understand why you cannot make the blocks easier to use. I also find the justifcations and wrap around non responsive. Yahoo had a program called “page builder’ you could insert text and image blocks wherever you wanted to. Also, how can one hide the navigation banner at the top of the home page? I do like your photo galleries.. Just ended up putting small amount of text and a picture or two..then linking it to the galleries Jen

This program is SO frustrating, and it is certainly NOT something simple that any beginner would be able to do. A friend asked me to help out with setting up a website, and we are both relatively smart, but I have spent several hours going around in circles. It just seems like it arbitrarily accepts some changes and not others. And for some bizarre reason, even though I reset the whole thing to start from scratch, and I am working on a new page, if I try to view it, it takes me back to some other version that I had created when I was first playing with this. This whole site is confusing and difficult to navigate, so it took me awhile just to get to the page I needed to get to. I expected a learning curve, and frankly I expected it to be slow-going since I don’t know all that much, but this is ridiculous!

I have been using WT for almost 2 years. It has never been easy to use, glitches as stated by the other posters have been a real headache. As an example, the fonts and sizes, when you change them sometimes they take and other times they don’t. Our website is heavy with pictures and always changing. I use tables as placeholders for the pictures but making changes to the tables and to the pictures themselves don’t always take! I took a break for about 2 months beginning last December, and when I logged back on last week, I received a message about migrating to new servers and additional features added to WT, however, I find it more difficult to use and it is, by far, less responsive to changes, and more frustrating then ever to use. You keep saying you are always looking for ways to improve your products and services, but unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to me as though this is the case when it comes to WT. For 2 years it has not gotten better. You may be adding features but the glitches and difficulties are not being addressed. I have been in IT for years and know a little about computers, we are using WT only because the gentleman I am using it for cannot afford the big dollar software such as Dreamweaver.

@czan
You should be able to place text around an image as you wish as long as there is enough space next to the image.
@liv42day
Thank you for the feedback. What browser are you using? I don’t have the issues that you explain with my WebSite Tonight account, I use Google Chrome.
