Wow, immediately disappointed for many of the same reasons already listed. But here is another complaint to add to the pile. I uploaded an image and wanted to see how it would look at several different sizes. So I resized to 75%. After deciding I wanted it a little bit larger I found that the resize I had done was not undoable and that it actually downrezzed my image. So when I typed in a higher resolution it resized again with probably the worst compression scheme I’ve ever seen. Trying to get it back to a larger size made the image look awful. And the image was only solid colors and white lines. Nothing remotely complex. So then I had to delete the image entirely and start all over. I mean come on, is there no way to try out different sizes of images in a non-destructive way?? Not to mention once you publish your page images and layouts don’t auto-resize for the size of the browser window on different computers.

I also find the program frustrating…specifically that the text boxes keep moving from where I place them and the background keeps changing sizes. Also unneeded content boxes refuse to be deleted or simply reappear after I delete them.

I must agree with the other posters on this subject. I have been trying to get my site up and Running for a month and every time I call support I seem to get a different answer to my same question. To I called and was told the only way to do what I want is to BUY more add on’s, I am Tired of this and I am pretty sure I am going to cut my losses and find another host.
For another $55 I can create a page with my client photos on them so the client can View the photos and I can lock them so only the client can view them once they receive the password.

I agree with most of the comments here, WST does not provide a simplistic solution for a wed design. Top of the page will not allow editing once I’ve added my logo, the text blocks are not able for transparency to only show texts so they take up all of the page. Very frustrating and time consuming. I am not happy with this at all and feel the sell was somewhat misleading. It’s great if you don’t won’t to use it creatively. Just use the text blocks and have a boring site to promote your business. Not a great idea.

After wasting almost a week, ready to go back to old provider. Although support has been good, finally heard the truth from one rep. Website Tonight is for do it your-selfers. Sounds like they are pushing their design services.

When I realized that I couldn’t complete my site in Visual Studio 2010 Express and would need to fork out quite a bit of money to buy the Pro version, I turned to GoDaddy for help. I haven’t used CSS in a really long time and I don’t like templates (more importantly the people I work for didn’t like any of the available templates, they have a specific look in mind.) So I called and asked specific questions regarding WST’s functionality and available components, I was assured that it had everything I needed. So I took the plunge and started my site from blank template, after a couple of hours of figuring out the GUI, I was thinking this isn’t so bad and I can complete what is needed with a lot of CSS and html editing. Thinking that my site was basically complete, I launched it on a test machine and found that the monitor resolution is an issue. I’ve checked on 4 different computers and layout has literally shifted on all 4 computers. I’ve looked and cannot figure out why this has happened, I’m about to make a call to Support to see if they have any answers. I’m seriously concerned with this and cannot deploy this site as is and I have a firm deadline of this coming Monday. I will extremely upset if there is no resolution (no pun intended) to this issue because I will have wasted precious time and resources for nothing and will have to quickly turn around a site in another product. I wish I would have read this thread before jumping on the WST band wagon. Good luck everyone else, I just felt you should know this information if trying to build a site from scratch.

I, too, am very disappointed in this application. I consider myself a little above the average when it comes to online programs and computer. This application is unfriendly and very difficult to use. Maybe I expected too much. I first tried the templates, then tried starting with a blank page, then back to the templates. I as so unhappy with this application. I will probably have to go to support, but I doubt that they will be able to help me do what I want to do. Very, very frustrating…

I do have to chime in here and say that I don’t find the site terribly easy to work with. I also feel that the help site could have better tutorials. I find that I avoid working on the site because I get frustrated with the most basic commands and dread spending time on the help desk. I am set to renew this program at the end of august and am considering moving to something else.

First off, how the heck do I get website tonight off my web page, so I can make a real website… It is horribly dissapointing, you cant add extra pictures besides the background? How are you spose to make any kind of website with out pictures. I would wrather have no background and some pictures. Now, I can’t use any sort of app or anything, so, please, how do I remove this.

I am so glad I’m not the only one completely frustrated by this application. I am used to being able to click on things and see what I’m doing but I find that words don’t appear when I type them, text boxes move without my wanting them too, I can’t get a color to change, etc. I desperately want to just start over and work fresh but I feel like I’m only allowed to keep making it look worse and worse. Very clunky and difficult to use!!!!!!

This program is simply awful. I can’t recall working with a less user-friendly one in the last 15 years. It is clumsy, unresponsive and a time-killer (be prepared to do everything 3 – 5 times – even simple tasks like bolding text!). This has been a miserable experience and as soon as I get the time I will set up my site with another hosting service. I must say, however, that any time I have asked for technical support, the people I have dealt with have been extremely helpful and supportive and have really kept me with Website Tonight. Unfortunately, I can’t marry one of them and have them live with me in order to assist with the constant issues that arise! It’s about the only way I would stay here!!! So hat’s off to them, but thumbs down to this clutzy program.
