My gallery of pics doesn’t show up when I want to create a montage, and I don’t see an option to upload.

In order for the images to show up as available in the montage, the gallery with the images must be marked as public. You can also try uploading the image directly to the gallery by going to the Upload tab when in the Photos and Videos section, working on your Montage.
