Re: tasteofchicagoscottsdale.com
Hi. I have a question. My site I thought had two pages but it seems like it has three pages… a home page with no file name after the web address, the same page with the file name I put in, and then the menu page. In other words, if you type in tasteofchicagoscottsdale.com in your address bar, the home page comes up. But if you go to the menu (my 2nd page) and then pack to the home page, it now has the file name appended as follows: http://tasteofchicagoscottsdale.com/scottsdale-fast-food.html Basically, it seems like i have two of the same pages, one the home page and one with the file name. How do I get rid of the file name page (it won’t let me delete the file name in the page management) so that I only have it with the web address and no file name? Did I accidentally create a dupe page and if I delete it the page will still be there without the file name or basically, what is the solution. Thanks

@geoffrsc

When you use WebSite Tonight, the home page will always be accessible using the domain and the domain with the file name of the home page. There is not a way to remove this.

Thanks for the fast reply Christian. So having the duplicate content home page can only be dealt with thru redirects? Basically, just 301 redirect the file name version to the .com ended address and make sure all the on page links have the .com ending address with no file name? And if this is the solution, does a user have the ability to make an htaccess file (or whatever file comports with the GoDaddy setup) in WebSite Tonight? Thanks again for your help. Geoff

@geoffrsc – These features would not be available in Website Tonight. It is not uncommon for a website to be accessible either way…
