404 error after wordpress install
pruettg said 1 year, 3 months ago:
Hi, I installed the wordpress app using the support documentation and when I go to my domain – ginapruette.com – I get a 404 error. I’m using Safari and Firefox on the Mac and neither works. I’ve cleared my cache, so that doesn’t seem to be the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’m having the same issue. Here’s the error message that I get whenever I try to access my site.
Fatal error: Call to undefined method Arras_Widget_Tag_Cloud::WP_Widget_Tag_Cloud() in /home/content/a/l/a/alabamapat/html/patbartels/wordpress/wp-content/themes/arras/library/widgets.php on line 404
I get the same message when I try to go to the wordpress admin url.
Everything was working fine before I began the update.

It appears I still had an old alias in my zone file that was redirecting my domain elsewhere. Took it out and no more 404.

@pruettg,
Glad to hear you were able to get this worked out on your own. Keep us posted if you run into any other concerns you would like help with.

@pbartels,
Were you still needing assistance with your own WordPress site? If so, could you provide the domain name so we can review this further?.

Hello,
I am having the same problem. I have followed the apps installation and have installed wordpress successfully. At first when I tried to access the admin page I would just get the Instant Page to show up. I have now deleted that and instead of getting the admin page I get the 404 error.
I use Chrome but I tried with Firefox and IE too, nothing. I emptied the cache, etc. and I still get the error.
Here is my link:

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I have just tried the link again and now I don’t get the 404 error but the GoDaddy page (the one with all the adds) that I believe every domain has before any setup is done.

It sounds like the domain was not pointing to the IP address of your hosting account. I am currently able to access the Wordpress admin page at http://dontpaygetpaid.com/wp-admin. If you are still unable to access the admin page, you may want to try clearing the cache on your browser and then try accessing the admin page again.

If I am checking it right (I am new to this) I am seeing the same IP on domain and hosting. Also I have already cleared the cache on the browser and still no luck.
I have just cleared it once more, just in case. I still get the “This web page is Parked” page full of adverts.

Hi, I am currently ending on a 404 page too. My client has registered a domain name at Godaddy and set an instant page up. I removed the instant page and installed Wordpress. Then, I proceeded as explained in the first section here: http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/?isc=webxpa. This was more than 48 hours ago.
Site is: baba-clothing.com
Thanks in advance for your help !

@manunopa
You will need to point the domain’s A record to the IP address of your hosting account. This article will show you how:
