WordPress on Free Hosting – Never

Just don’t do it. It will break WordPress and put scuzzy ads on all yourpages.

@Zfish,
That is correct, our free Hosting packages do have advertisements at the top of the page. If the template that you use contains frames, it may place the banners in more than one place. If you wish to continue using WordPress, we do offer a WordPress Hosting package that is optimized and best suited for these types of sites. You can find more information here:

Please let us know if you have any further questions or if you need anything else!

Hello Clint…Please relay to your management my opinion as a long-time customer that has paid GoDaddy 1000′s of dollars, what a terrible decision it is to place ads on the free hosting accounts. It would be better to offer a free hosting account for a year, and then require it to be upgraded to a paid account.
I consider the 298 free hosting account credits I have to be worth – zero.

On a more positive note, WordPress will soon release the 3.0 upgrade, which will include features that are now part of WordPress MU for adding blogs to a single WP install.
This means every single blog install will have the potential for adding blogs on the same install, as subdirectory or folder installs.
Assigning additional domains to the added blogs will require wildcard subdomains and one dedicated IP.
Which of the current GoDaddy hosting packages provides the right hosting for WordPress MU or WordPress 3.0??
