Accessing Your cPanel Email Account Using a Mail Client

Date Submitted: 10-26-2009

To access your dedicated server cPanel email account using an email client, such as Outlook®, Thunderbird™, or Entourage®, you need the following information:

User Name
This is the name of the email account you created in cPanel (for example janesmith@coolexample.com).
Password
This is the password you specified in cPanel when you set up your email account.
POP3 Setting
mail.yourpersonaldomainname.com, where yourpersonaldomainname.com is your domain name.
SMTP Setting
mail.yourpersonaldomainname.com, where yourpersonaldomainname.com is your domain name.

NOTE: The outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication and uses the same user name and password as the incoming (POP3) server.

For more information about setting up mail accounts in cPanel, you can view the documentation available on cPanel's website at http://www.cpanel.net.
