Supporting Premium Extended Validation Certificates in Different Browsers
Recent versions of most popular Web browsers have a visual indicator for Premium Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates, usually a green address bar. The following browser versions support displaying the indicator:
- Internet Explorer® 7 and later on Windows® Vista
- Internet Explorer 7 and later on XP
- Firefox® 3 and later
- Opera 9.5
- All versions of Google® Chrome
- All versions of Apple Safari®
If visitors have problems seeing the green bar on your website, add the Site Seal to your site. The Site Seal prompts browsers to automatically download updates required to display Premium EV SSL certificates properly.
NOTE: Browsers display EV certificates differently. For instance, Internet Explorer changes the address bar to green, and Firefox adds a green box to the left of the address. Check your browser's support documentation to see how it handles EV certificates.
