Trading and Transferring .eu Domain Names
The process for registrant contact updates and transfers is unique for .eu domain names. The European Registry of Internet Domain Names (EURid) charges a fee for .eu trades and transfers. Upon completion of a transfer or trade, one year of registration will be added to the original expiration date.
Trading a .eu Domain Name
A trade is a change of registrant for a .eu domain name. EURid charges a trade fee, prior to the update, regardless of whether the domain name is changing accounts.

To Trade a .eu Domain Name Without an Account Change
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Select the domain name(s) you want to update.
- From the Contacts menu, select Contact Information. The Contact Information window displays.
- Update the registrant name and then click OK. The checkout displays.
- After you pay the fee, we will send a confirmation email to the registrant contact's email address.
To Trade a .eu Domain Name After an Account Change
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Select the domain name(s) you want to move.
- Under the More menu, click Change Domain Ownership.
- Enter the recipient's email address and account login information.
- We send the transaction ID and security code to the gaining customer's email address on file with us.
- The gaining registrant logs in, clicks Accept an Account Change, and enters the codes.
- The gaining customer pays the fee for the change of registrant.
Transferring a .eu Domain Name to Us
A transfer is a change of registrar for a .eu domain name. EURid charges a fee for transfers.

To Transfer a .eu Domain Name to Us
- See Preparing to Transfer Domain Names to Us for important information about purchasing and preparing for your .eu domain name transfer.
NOTE: When you purchase a .eu domain name transfer from us, we send transfer IDs to the email address on file in your account with us and the authorization code to the registrant contact's email address as it displays in the Whois database.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains click Launch.he My Account section on the left sidebar, click Domain Transfers. The Pending Transfers page displays.
- For the .eu domain name you want to authorize, in the Status column, click Authorize. The Transfer Details window displays.
- Click Authorize transfer now.
- In the Transaction ID and Security Code fields, enter the transfer IDs from the email we sent to the email address on file in your account with us, and then click Next. If you did not receive transfer IDs, see How do I change my admin email address at my current registrar?
- In the Authorization Code field, enter the authorization code we emailed to the registrant contact's email address.
- Select I authorize the transfer..., and then click Finish.
- Click OK.
