Using Marketing Source Codes

Date Submitted: 5-21-2012

Marketing Source Codes help you track the traffic and purchases on your turnkey Reseller storefront.

After you create Marketing Source Codes, you can use them in your advertising campaigns. They help you to determine when customers click advertisements and whether those clicks result in sales.

To use a Marketing Source Code, add it to the end of your storefront URL as the query string parameter isc. For example:

  • Marketing Source Codecode1
  • Storefront URLhttps://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/rhp/default.asp?prog_id=XXXXX (where XXXXX is your Prog ID)
  • Storefront URL with Marketing Source Code
    https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/rhp/default.asp?prog_id=XXXXX&isc=code1

Instead of sending customers to your home page, you can send customers to a specific product page on your storefront when they follow links or click banners. To do so, go to the product page, copy its URL, and then add the query string parameter as described above. For example, you want to direct customers to the SSL sale page on your storefront using Marketing Source Code code1, then you would use this URL:
https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/ssl/ssl.asp?prog_id=XXXXX&isc=code1 (where XXXXX is your Prog ID)

In addition, you can create multiple codes to find out which advertisements are most effective. For example, if you create two ads that promote SSLs and use two separate Marketing Source Codes, you can determine if a red ad advertisement is more or less effective than a blue advertisement. You can also create multiple campaigns to test variables, such as pictures, text, or placements, to ensure your advertising campaigns are efficient.
