Working with Hosting AccountExecs

Date Submitted: 2-1-2012

If you want to give someone access to your hosting account but not all of your other account information, you can assign them as a Hosting AccountExec. This lets them log in to their customer account and manage only the aspects of your hosting account you specify.

The process for assigning Hosting AccountExecs is (your actions are in blue, the new AccountExec's are in green):

  1. Create a New AccountExec.
  2. The AccountExec accepts the request in their own account.
  3. Assign the AccountExec to your hosting account and grant them permissions.
  4. The AccountExec logs in and manages your hosting account.

Create a New AccountExec

Creating a New AccountExec sends the recipient a request email they must accept before you can assign them to your hosting account.

To Create a New AccountExec

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Web Hosting.
  3. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
  4. In the upper-right corner of the Hosting Control Center, next to your domain name, click Change Account.
  5. Select the account you want to use, and then click New AccountExec.
  6. Complete the on-screen fields, and then click OK.

Accept the AccountExec Request

This information assumes you are the recipient of the AccountExec Request.

Once you receive the request to become a Hosting AccountExec, you must accept the invitation in your own account. If you do not have an account, go to our home page, click Create Account, and then complete the fields to set up your account.

To Accept the AccountExec Request

  1. To accept the request, you must click the link in the email you received.

NOTE: If you are not logged into your account, you are prompted to do so at this point. Once you are logged in, you need to go back to your email and follow the link again.

  2. On the right side of the screen, under Accept Invitation, click Continue.
  3. Click Continue again.

After you accept the request, the account owner must assign you to a hosting account and grant your permissions.
