Troubleshooting Your Website's Easy Database for Websites Widgets
If you experience issues with Easy Database for Websites widgets on your website, check the following:
- Ensure your hosting account or server can run PHP. If it's running PHP 5, ensure it's in safe mode.
NOTE: Our Windows hosting accounts running IIS 7 support PHP, as do most modern Windows-based hosting services.
- Ensure the computer you're using to access your website can also access
dbexternalcontact.secureserver.net. - Ensure that your have the provided
proxy.phpfile located athttp://coolexample.com/dbboon/proxy.php(where coolexample.com is your domain name). We install this file by default on your hosting account when you purchase Easy Database for Websites. If you do not have this file, you can download it from your Easy Database for Websites account. For more information, see Downloading the Easy Database for Websites PHP Add-On. - Ensure your hosting account can connect to
dbexternalcontact.secureserver.net. To do this, go tohttp://coolexample.com/dbboon/proxy.php(where coolexample.com is your domain name) in your Web browser. If you get the following response, your hosting server has a problem connecting to the Easy Database for Websites server:{"result":false,"error":{"code":0,"message":"Communication error, unable to contact proxy service."}}If you get the following response, your hosting server can connect to the proxy service:{"result":false,"error":{"code":2,"message":"No service method requested."}}
