Importing Data into Data Tables with Easy Database for Websites
After creating data tables in Easy Database for Websites, import data from XLS (Microsoft Excel®), XLSX (Microsoft Excel® 2010), or CSV (comma separated value) files. For more information, see Creating Data Tables with Easy Database for Websites.
When importing data, you can map your imported columns to your data table's existing columns or create new columns.
NOTE: If you want to import files larger than 2MB, use CSV files. If you want to import CSV files larger than 100MB, break the files down into files smaller than 100MB.
To Import Data into Data Tables
- Log in to your Easy Database for Websites account.
- Go to the Data Tables tab.
- Click Import Data.
- Select one of the following, and then click Next:
- URL — Enter the URL, including
http://, for the XLS, XLSX, or CSV file you want to import. - Select a file to upload — Click Browse, locate the XLS, XLSX, or CSV file on your computer you want to import, and then click Open.
- Copy and paste — Copy data from a file, and then paste it in the Copy and paste field.
- URL — Enter the URL, including
- From the Data Widgets Column, select an option for each column from the imported file, and then click Done:
- Create New — Create a new column in your data table, with the specified Column Name.
- Don't Import — Do not import any of the data from this column in the imported file.
- Table Columns — Select an existing table column to import the data into.
