What is the PHP Add-on for Easy Database for Websites?
The Easy Database for Websites PHP Add-on links the widgets embedded on your website to your Easy Database for Websites account. It consists of a file, proxy.php, inside of a directory, dbboon. For example, http://coolexample.com/dbboon/proxy.php, where coolexample.com is your domain name.
You must use the proxy.php file to connect your hosting account's server to the Easy Database for Websites server. The proxy.php file redirects requests from your website's widgets, which would normally be blocked by your visitors' Web browser, to your hosting account, where the requests can be processed. For information about how the PHP Add-on works, see our Technical Information Guide.
Without the Easy Database for Websites PHP Add-on, your website cannot display updated data from your data tables, display search results, or enter a visitor's information submitted from a Data Entry widget.
If you have a hosting account with us, we install this file on your hosting account when you purchase Easy Database for Websites. You can safely delete it if you are not using Easy Database for Websites. However, you can download a new copy of the file at http://datawidgets.secureserver.net/download/proxy.zip.
